June M. Leiser, 87, of Grand Island died Sunday March 15, 2009, at the Golden Living Center at Lakeview. Services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Quandt will officiate. Cremation will follow the services. Burial of the cremains will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home, with family greeting friends from 4 to 6 PM. June was born June 12, 1921, at Giltner, NE to D. Victor and Rachel (Strange) Pavey. Survivors of the immediate family include one daughter, Linda Rae Caitlin of Portland, OR; three sons and daughters-in-law, LaVern and Sharon Leiser of Portland, OR, Bill and Marge Bellairs of Wood River and Jack Bellairs and friend Dorla Brooks, both of Central City; and one brother, John Pavey of Phoenix, AZ. Additional survivors include nine grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. June grew up in the Giltner area and graduated from Giltner High School. She married Dale Bellairs on August 5, 1939 at David City, NE. She later married Keith E. Leiser on Feb 14, 1952. June helped Keith on the farm for a short time following their marriage. She then worked for the county extension office. She later worked in sales for the National Motor Club and advanced to the position of district manager. She retired in 1972. June and Keith loved to travel in their retirement years. June also enjoyed painting landscape scenes until her health declined. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith in 2008; one brother, Edward Pavey; her son, Danny Bellairs; and a grandson, Danny James. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice.
