Adam John Harrahill, 32, of Holdrege, died Friday, October 24, 2014 near Holdrege as the result of a car accident.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am Wednesday at St. Mary's Cathedral in Grand Island. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Tuesday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. A time of fellowship and sharing of memories by family and friends will begin at 7 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Adam's family request all memorials be made to the Holdrege High School shop program to further his passion for carpentry and woodworking.
Adam was born on November 6, 1981 at Grand Island to Tom and Pauline (Stepp) Harrahill. He grew up in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Central Catholic in 2000. He attended UNK, UNO and graduated from Metro Community College with a degree in carpentry. Following graduation Adam lived in Omaha where he worked in construction.
He then moved to Holdrege where he owned and operated Country Corner Cabinets. Adam was a country boy at heart and immediately fell in love with the community. As he always did, he quickly formed new friendships and was proud to call Holdrege home.
Adam was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church and his faith was always an important part of his life. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman, always looking forward to time spent in the outdoors with family, friends and his beloved German Shorthairs.
He is survived by his parents, Tom and Pauline Harrahill of Grand Island; two sisters, Kellie Tagge and her husband Jason of Omaha, and Katie Bugbee and her husband Travis of Lincoln; five nieces and nephews, Grant, Ella and Andrew Tagge , and Max and Jake Bugbee; his significant other, Joelle Rehnberg of Holdrege; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Adam was preceded in death by his grandparents and three uncles, Gary Anderson, Don Zahm and Tom Stepp.
