Alan LeRoy Bartlett, passed away April 26, 2023 in Grand Island, NE, at the age of 83. A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm at the Ord Cemetery with a reception following at the First United Methodist Church in Ord. Condolences can be left at www.livson.com.
He was born to Orval and Lucille Bartlett in Bethany, MO. Alan received his education in Bethany and later joined the Army. His basic training was spent in Fort Polk, LA and remaining tour was at Fort Sill, OK. Alan was honorably discharged in 1965. He spent 6 months in an Army hospital with stomach ulcers which continued for the rest of his life.
He married Bette McGill, and to this union 2 children were born.
He married Marilyn K. Conner, the love of his life. They were together 37 years as friends and later as husband and wife.
Alan was a pipeline welder and Marilyn joined him in that work for 11 years.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; daughter, Kristy (Alan) Lammes; son, Keith Bartlett and his partner, Dianna Russell; granddaughters, Shantel (David) Lopez and Elizabeth Bartlett; grandsons, Seth, Jadon and Kian Lammes and Mason Bartlett; great grandchildren, Teagen, Liberty and Micah Silva; sister, Janice Heft; brother, Paul "Butch" Bartlett and wife, Rhetta; sister in-law, JoAnne (Ron) Kasselder; stepson, Mark (Sandi) Conner; step grandson, Weston (Courtney) Conner and Nicolle Conner; step great granddaughters, Payton and Paisley Conner; step daughter, Caren (Carlene) Conner-Cormier and step grandchildren, Kelsey and Aaron Gramley and Corinne Cormier and many extended family and friends.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bud Bartlett; sisters, Lois (Lee) Howrey, Mary (Wilber) Preston; Wilma (Jack) Lovitt, Marge (Norman) Beard and Joyce (Pete) Kimmons; great grandson, Matthew Silva; sister in-law, Shirley McCain and brother in-law, Chuck Hrebec.
