Obituary

Arthur M. Campos, 95, of Grand Island, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Hamilton Manor in Aurora. A memorial service will be 10:30 am, Thursday July, 7 at First-Faith United Methodist Church in Grand Island with Pastor Trudy Kenyon Anderson officiating. Burial of ashes will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Dannenbrog with Full Military Honors.

He was born in Monterrey, Mexico to Adolf and Manuela (Martinez) Campos on August, 22, 1920. He was raised in Hall County. Arthur was inducted into the United States Army on March 19, 1943 and was Honorably Discharged on March 18, 1946. He worked for Wilson's Packing House in Omaha and retired after 22 years. Later he worked for several farmers around the Dannebrog area.

Arthur was united in marriage to Helen Schomer on September 5, 1980 at Grand Island, NE. After which the couple lived in Grand Island.

He enjoyed fishing, watching baseball, and gardening.

Arthur was a member of the Dannebrog American Legion #241.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; sons, Johnny Trejo, David, Chris, and Moses Campos, and Bobby and Glenn Schomer; daughters, Kathryn Garcia, Tomasine Hegg, Rita Sanchez, Dottie Trejo, Lisa Campos, April Alvarez, and Kathy Myers.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Patricia Campos; brother, Victor Campos; and grandson, Michael Campos.
