Betty (Keller) MacKinnon, 95, a long-time resident of the area, died Wednesday the 13th of January at Good Samaritan Society in Grand Island. The kind staff of The Good Samaritan Society, Grand Island and Aseracare Hospice made all the difference. To follow Betty's wishes, cremation was chosen and services will be at a later date.
She was born on Valentine's Day, 1920 in Grant, NE to Hazel and Myles Keller, Betty received her education in Keith County Nebraska. Retail was the field of endeavor/career where she utilized her creative flair most. She loved good food and socializing with her wonderful neighbors. Her engaging smile could light up a room but, first and foremost, she demonstrated the concepts of acceptance and perseverance. Betty was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church where she helped wherever and whenever she was needed and sang in the choir until six years ago.
Mrs. MacKinnon is survived by her daughter Betty Andersen, son-in-law, Larry, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, a niece, nephew and two cousins.
Karl MacKinnon, her husband of sixty-one years, preceded her in death in January of 2003.
You could see a movie with someone you love: that would make Betty happy.
In Christ's Love...
