Betty June Schaller, 84, of Grand Island, passed away December 8, 2012 at the Wedgewood Care Center in Grand Island with her children at her side.
Betty was born January 9, 1928 to Ernest and Edna Mae (Hoss) Sloniger in Grand Island. She received her education here and always knew Grand Island was home.
On June 27, 1970 she married Robert (Bob) Schaller in Grand Island. After her marriage she became a home maker. Betty worked hard as a single mom raising her six children. She also was a cook at Jake's Bake Shop.
Betty enjoyed working crossword puzzle books and visiting with her friends at Wedgewood. But she most enjoyed her time spent with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Sandy and Doug Stoltenberg of Grand Island, Rachael and Harvey Evans of Grand Island; sons, Butch and Dalene Dixon of Palatka, Florida, Gary Dixon of Grand Island; daughter-in-law, Pam Schaller of Grand Island; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was welcomed into heaven by her husband, Bob; daughter, Susie Dixon; son, Todd Schaller; sister, Marcella Gordon; brothers, Buzz Sloniger and Freddie Sloniger; her parents; and her very special four-legged son Skippie.

Graveside service will be Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 2:00 pm.
Family and friends will meet at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home at
1:30 pm and process to the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
