Bonnie Lou Jensen, 79, of Grand Island, died Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Golden Living Park Place in Grand Island.
Memorial services will be at 2 pm Monday at Calvary Lutheran Church. Reverend Sheri Lodel will officiate. There will be no visitation, according to her wishes, Bonnie was cremated. Burial will be at a later date in Westlawn Memorial Park.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mrs. Jensen was born on August 11, 1934 at Aurora, Nebraska to Charles and Bessie (Avers) Williams. She grew up and received her education in Aurora.
Bonnie was united in marriage to Harlan Jensen on April 7, 1955. The couple lived in California and Omaha before moving to Grand Island where they owned and operated Check Rite and Check Cashing Services. Harlan preceded Bonnie in death on May 22, 2008.
She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. Bonnie enjoyed doing crafts, sewing and researching genealogy and her family ancestry. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially on family vacations.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Marienau of Grand Island; three grandchildren, Christopher Marienau of Grand Island, Tiffany Marienau and her son, Alex Garcia of Atkinson, and Emily Marienau of Grand Island.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Brian and a brother, Roger Williams
