Carla C. (Wassinger) Moellenberndt, 60, of Grand Island, Nebraska, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025, at her home in Grand Island.

To honor Carla's wishes, cremation was chosen.

Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home in Grand Island is entrusted with the arrangements.

Memorials are kindly suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.

Carla was born January 25, 1965, in Grand Island, Nebraska, to George & Lois Ann (Sass) Wassinger, Sr. She grew up and attended school in Grand Island. She received her GED and attended college at CCC - Grand Island, where she studied mechanics and small engine repair courses.

She owned and operated a small engine machine shop for a number of years.

Carla loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She grew up building and fixing engines with her dad and had a passion for motorcycles. She loved her pets and always had a dog.

She is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Vicky Taylor of Idaho, Cathy & Gary Files of Grand Island, Becky Smith of Grand Island; brothers and sisters-in-law, Anthony & Pam Wassinger of Papillion, James & Sherry Wassinger of Grand Island, and George & Diane Wassinger of Grand Island; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews; and many cousins.

Carla is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, sister, Mary Rouse; nephew, Mike Smith, and brother-in-law, Dane Smith.
