Carolyn Sue O'Royt, 68, of Grand Island, died Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Wedgewood Care Center in Grand Island.

Carolyn was born on April 18, 1946 in Evansville, IN to Smiling Johnny and Mary (Brand) O'Royt. She grew up in many places as the family moved to various locations with the military. She attended school in New Harmony, IN and also in Germany.

Carolyn loved all types of animals; especially her parakeets. She enjoyed making things with beads and painting pictures, and listening to music-her favorite was Johnny Cash.

She is survived by her mother: Mary of Grand Island; sisters: LaDonna O'Royt (Kevin) Pedersen of Grand Island, Judy O'Royt of Flagstaff, AZ, Shannon Kanlan of Phoenix, AZ; brother: Patrick (Kay) O'Royt of Flagstaff, AZ; nephews: Adam Reeves, David Reeves, Robert Reeves, Jimmy Cook, Jeremy O'Royt, Connor Gates, Valon Gates, Carl Hayes; nieces: Tina Reeves, Angie Cook, Windy LeDonne, and Liz Hayes.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her father: Smiling Johnny O'Royt; brother: Smiling Michael O'Royt; and sister: Patricia McIntosh.

A Graveside service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Grand Island City Cemetery. There will be viewing at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home starting at 11:00 am until 1:00 pm.
