Curtis H. Streff was born March 23, 1940, in Salem, SD to Henry and Joyce (Barnhouse) Streff.
He grew up in the Salem area and graduated from St. Mary's High School.
Following high school he joined the Navy where he served for several years. Following his time in the service, he worked for McCormick Garage in Salem, SD. On May 10, 1963, he married Kathryn Dwyer.
In 1969 he was elected as the Clay County Treasurer, in Salem, SD. In 1971, Curt moved his family to Central City, NE to work for F&W Manufacturing and Napa Auto Parts, and in 1976 the family moved to Ord, NE where Curt worked for Ord Manufacturing, KK Propane and eventually CR Fredrick Construction. In 1994 Curt continued his education graduating from Central Community College in Grand Island, NE.
Upon retiring, Curt continued to work part time at the Ord Senior Center and Vets Club while enjoying hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn, of Ord, NE; his children, Arlene and husband Terry Clements of Almeria, NE, Hank and wife Julie Streff of Santa Teresa, NM, Sean and wife Dana Streff of Sidney, NE, Joel and wife Stacy Streff of Ord, NE. 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Brother, Gregor and wife Gayle Streff of Salem, SD, and one sister, Sr. Joyce Streff of Mitchell, SD, and Sister in law Frances Streff of Salem, SD.
He was preceded in death by his father Henry, mother Joyce, brother Clyde and two granddaughters.
