Dane L. Smith, 74, of Grand Island, NE passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024 at CHI Health St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.

Funeral Services will be held at 2pm Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024 at Blessed Sacrament Church with Father Robin Bashir officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. There will be no burial. In lieu of flowers memorials may be suggested to the family to be designated at a later date. Online condolences and sharing of memories may be directed to www.livson.com. Dane was born May 28, 1950 to Hyle Junior and Eva Jean (Lowry) Smith in Fairfield, CA. He grew up and graduated from Fairfield High School in California. He was united in marriage to Becky Wassinger. To this union three children were born.

He worked for Roy Evans, Hornady Manufacturing and George's Conoco. He was a janitor at Grand Island Senior High until he retired in 2020 after 26 years. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church. His hobbies included motorcycles, working on cars and spending time with family.

Dane is survived by his wife Becky; daughters, Nicole Turechek of Stratford, CT, Jaime Brown of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Delaney, Deanna, Bryce, Leah, Rachel, Memphis, Nicholas and Michael.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Smith; brother, Michael B. Smith and sister, Patricia Sorensen.
