David H. Rief, 68, of Grand Island, passed away on January 20, 2018 at his home.

Memorial services will be held at 11 AM, Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Trudy Hanke officiating. Burial of ashes will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.

David was born June 8, 1949 to William and Dora (Ritter) Rief. He attended Rural School District 4 and graduated from Northwest High School.

He lived on the family farm all of his life south of Grand Island. He had a passion for farming and loved to work with the animals.

David had many hobbies, including welding, repairing farm machinery and woodworking.

He is survived by his sisters, Catherine and Don Miller of Wood River and Evelyn Blattner of Lufkin, TX; and many nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dora (Ritter) Rief; brothers, William Jr. and Wilbur Rief; and a sister, Dorothy Holmstedt.
