Delores D. Denning, 83, of Grand Island died Friday, January 10, 2014 at Golden Living Park Place.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Tuesday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Pastor Scott Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mrs. Denning was born on January 7, 1931 at Wichita, Kansas to William and Flora (Campbell) Whipple. She grew up in Wichita and graduated high school in 1949. Following high school Delores remained in Wichita where she worked at a nursing home. She moved to Grand Island in 1965 where she worked for Parkside Manor and also cleaned homes in the Grand Island area.
She was united in marriage to Loren Denning on April 2, 1998 in Grand Island. The couple made their home in Grand Island. Delores enjoyed watching soap operas, television game shows and working in her yard. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and neighbors.
Delores is survived by a daughter, Patricia Cummings of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Steven Cummings of Grand Island, Shelly and husband Matt Fotz of Wichita, KS, Tammy and husband Denny Flynn of Dacono, CO; and four great grandchildren, Stephanie and husband Tyler, Christopher, Nicole, Daytona and Ian.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, David McCoy, and three brothers.
