Obituary

Delores J. Stueven, 80 of Grand Island, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016 at Lakeview Nursing Home. Services will be 2:00 PM Friday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bill Schroeder officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, from 3-6 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery following the service. Online condolences may be directed to www.livson.com.

Delores was born November 17, 1936 at Grand Island, NE to Arthur and Adaline (Blanco) Staal.
She was united in marriage to LaVern Stueven on March 28, 1954 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Grand Island. After which the couple lived their entire lives in the Grand Island area. Delores worked in the sewing business making drapery for Sears, Drapery Den, Daisy Drapery as well as being self-employed.

Delores was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, Danish Sisterhood of America #113, a Scout Den Mother and was recognized as a Lifetime PTA Member.
Her passion was her family. Her life focused on her kids and grandkids and all their activities while growing up. She also, never wanted to miss coffee with her neighbors. She also loved gardening, especially her flowers. Delores and LaVern spent many years enjoying going to dances and playing cards with their friends.

Survivors include her three sons, Rick Stueven and special friend Theresa Lawrence and her son Dylan Lawrence of Central City, Randy Stueven of Grand Island, and Mark (Erin) Stueven of Lincoln.
She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Crystal Bernard, Keith, Nick, Barrett and Kendall Stueven; two great-grandchildren, Will and Emily Bernard, and one great granddaughter on the way; her sister, Lois (Jim) Dunham; two nieces, Linda White and Julie Dunham; and two great nieces, Jennifer Boughton and Jessica White.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LaVern and her parents.

Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date. Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
