Dolores M. Knox, 97, of Grand Island died Friday, April 8, 2011 at St. Francis Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm Tuesday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Reverend Bill Pavuk will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Tiffany Square Care Center.
Dolores was born on February 26, 1914 in Grand Island to Bert and Tina (Heesch) Yocum. She grew up and received her education in Grand Island.
She was united in marriage to Virgil P. Knox on June 3, 1932 in Grand Island. The couple made their home in Grand Island where she worked as a dietary aid at the VA Medical Center for 17 and a half years.
Dolores was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and writing poetry.
She was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church and the Retired Federal Employees Association.
Survivors of the immediate family include a daughter, Sharolyn (Dale) Dibbern of Grand Island, a grandson, Don (Stephanie) Dibbern of St. Louis, MO, a grandson, David Waggoner of Gering, NE, a great grandson, Payton Dibbern, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Marilyn Waggoner, four brothers, and four sisters.
