Donald Dean Denman, 85 of Alda passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at CHI Health St. Francis with family by his side.
A visitation gathering of family and friends will take place from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Sunday, March 11 at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Don was cremated and a family burial will take place in the future.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Don's family for designation at a later date.

Don was born February 14, 1933 to Loyal and Mayme (Franz) Denman at Grand Island. He grew up on the family farm, attended District #6 then went on to graduate with the Class of 1950 from Alda High School. He married his childhood sweetheart, Jacqueline Hayden on October 21, 1951 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Grand Island.
He enlisted in the United States Army in April of 1953 and was honorably discharged in in April of 1955, serving in the Korean War. Don and Jacque returned to farm near Alda where he was a farmer and stockman with Triple D Simmental along with raising many animals over the years. Together with Jacque two children were born, Kimball and Pamela. He loved watching all sports but especially Husker volleyball, telling stories and gossiping with friends, and he adored his great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the American Simmental Association and Platt-Duetsche Society.
Don is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jacque (Hayden) Denman, Alda; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Len Sorahan, Grand Island; daughter-in-law Rhonda Denman, Wood River; sister and brother in law, Sharon and Wayne Meier, Alda, sisters-in-law Gladys Denman, Grand Island and Rosemary Stoker of Grant; brothers-in-law Dick Hayden, Omaha and Ira Woitaszewski, Odgen, UT.
Additional survivors include grandchildren, Dusty Sorahan, Lincoln, Kinsey (Andy) Bauer, Lincoln, Brooke (Brandon) Thompson, Wood River, Jennifer (Chad) Fischer, Grand Island, Bobbi (Darren) Parlin, Wood River; great-grandchildren, Marlee and Quinlee Bauer, Kenna, Sawyer, Gemma and Kimber Thompson, Landon and Lucas Fischer, Haley, Abigail, and Faith Parlin; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kimball Denman; parents Loyal and Mayme Denman, brothers Robert Denman and Jack Denman; sisters-in-law, Gloria Burton and Sandra Woitaszewski.
