Donald C. Enck, 82, of Grand Island, passed away, Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Grand Island Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Sid Bruggeman officiating. Burial of ashes with FUll Military Honors will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery following the luncheon.

Don was born December 19, 1934 to Ward and Bonnie (Corl) Enck in North Platte, NE. He attended Grand Island Senior High. He joined the United States Military and served from May 4, 1957 and was Honorably Discharged on August 1, 1962.
He worked at Jakes Bake Shop, and then McKim Standard Station. He operated Don's Texaco Station, and later delivered for Servisosp. He later worked for 31 years for Claussen Construction and part-time nights at Holiday Gas Station. He then started and owned ATW trucking company where he retired.
Don married Elizabeth Dittman on May 29, 1952. Together they made their home and raised their 3 children in Grand Island.In Don's earlier life, he raced flat track motorcycles, and was president of White Spot Motorcycle Club. He also raced Model A's at Schimmers Lake. He played fast pitch softball at the Platte Deutsche. He loved stockcar racing, and wagering on horse racing, football, and basketball. He also enjoyed golfing with his family and friends in his later years. His pride and joy was his ATW Racing #52 driven by his son, Donnie. He especially loved spending time with his grandkids.
Don is survived his children and their spouses, Donnie and Ronna Enck, Deb and Jim Petersen, and Dennis and Janet Enck all of Grand Island; Grandchildren, Misty Schaecher, Nikki Enck, Kenzie Niedfelt, Megan Petersen, Dustin and Dylan Allen; 8 great grandchildren; brothers, Jim and Kenneth; sister, Linda Adamson of Greeley, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth; infant twins, Suzanne and Suzette; and twin brother, Ron.
