Donald Paul Rock, 89, of Grand Island died peacefully with family by his side on September 26, 2018 at CHI Health St. Francis Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM, Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home Chapel with The Reverend Martin Egging officiating. Visitation will be at 9:00 AM, prior to service at the Funeral Home Chapel. There will be a Vigil Rosary beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.

Don was born May 22, 1929 at St. Libory, NE to Maurice and Mildred (Miller) Rock. He grew up on a farm in St. Libory and in Grand Island, NE. He attended Grand Island Schools.

He was united in marriage to Margie Kaumans on June 1, 1949 at St. Mary's Cathedral in Grand Island. After which the couple made their home in Grand Island.

Don was self taught with drafting and reading blueprints, where he drew plans for many schools, hospitals and houses. He also loved to hunt and fish, wood working and gardening.

Don was a member of Blessed Sacrament, Liederkranz and Platt-Duetsche.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Margie Rock; children, Thomas Rock; Annette Reinhardt, Mary and Jeff Czaplewski, and Theresa and Steve McCarthy, all of Grand Island; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; infant twin son and daughter, Matthew and Michelle; and daughter, Debbie Rock.
