Obituary

Dorathy Lee Wiese, 89 of Grand Island, NE passed away Friday, February 15, 2019 at Tiffany Square Care Center.

Memorial services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Chapel with Pastor Tessa Zehring officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service time.

Dorathy was born on August 29, 1929 in Grand Island, NE to William F. Evers and Maxine (Williams) Evers.  She married Lloyd D. Colfack on May 16, 1948 and to this union had four children; Dale Colfack, Sue (John) Utecht, Lyn (John) Guyette, Cindy (Dennis) Schlueter.

She later married Henry J. Wiese on November 26, 1965 in this union they had two children; Annette (Mark) Hollister and Julie (the late Gilbert) Garcia.

Dorathy began her L.P.N. duties in 1976 working at Lutheran Memorial Hospital, the V.A. Hospital, and later retiring while working at Riverside Lodge in 1999. While living at Chrysalis she started the Red Hat Society as Queen Mother. They visited and entertained many residents at nursing homes and clubs in the area.

Dorathy was always an excellent cook no matter what she made, she also enjoyed crocheting, painting with oils, putting puzzles together and playing all sorts of games. Dorathy loved to camp, fish, read mysteries and especially spending a lot of time with her family. Dorathy was a devoted Christian and member of the Methodist faith.

Those left to cherish her memory are her six children; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; two great great grand-children; her brother, Robert E. (Diane) Evers of Gilbert, AZ; Nephews, Ralph, Robert, and Eric Evers.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William L. Evers.

Dorathy was an avid Husker football fan. The family requests that those attending dress in Husker attire.
