Dorothy J. Caudill, 85, of Grand Island died Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Tiffany Square in Grand Island.

Dorothy was born November 1, 1928 in Grand Island to Edward H. and Bregida (Sack) Becker. She attended Grand Island Senior High. On February 27, 1946, she was united in marriage to Donald L. Caudill at St. Mary's Cathedral.

Dorothy worked in retail most of her life. She was employed at Allen's Self Service, J.C. Penney's, J.M. McDonalds Department Store for 17 years until it closed. Then she worked at Sheila's and Company until she retired in 1998.

She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Altar Society, Eagle's Ladies Axillary, Saddle Club, and CJ's Woman's Club. Dorothy enjoyed crafts, flowers, playing cards, music and dancing. She also volunteered at St. Francis.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Gary (Jean) Caudill of Lincoln, NE; daughter, Cheryl (Allen) Valish of La Vista, NE; grandchildren, Kevin Ryan, Aaron Ryan, Kelly Wisnewski, Scott Caudill, Dustin Caudill; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Joyce (Pete) Fortinos of Wood River, NE; sister-in-law, Beverly Becker of Grand Island, and many nephews and nieces; and special friend, Richard Fredrick.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald on June 6, 1993; brothers, Richard (Dick) Becker, Lyle Becker, and infant Kenneth.

Dorothy J. Caudill, 85, of Grand Island died Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Tiffany Square in Grand Island. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Father Tom Ryan will officiate. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Friday with a Scripture Wake Service at 7 pm Blessed Sacrament. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
