Obituary

Dorothy M. Moeller, 95, of Grand Island passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019 at CHI Health St. Francis Skilled Nursing Center in Grand Island.

A funeral service will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, July 9th at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Schambach officiating. Visitation will be Monday, July 8th from 5-7 PM at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home Chapel.

Dorothy was born on April 27, 1924 in rural western Hamilton County to William and Frieda (Obermeier) Sundermeier. She grew up on a farm and attended Phillips High School, where she graduated from in 1941.

She was united in marriage to Henry Moeller on January 28, 1945 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Grand Island. The couple resided on a farm between Giltner and Doniphan before moving in 1958 to a farm northeast of Grand Island, they enjoyed many years on the farm before moving to Grand Island in 1988.

Dorothy was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and was very active in the church's sewing circle, she was also a 4-H leader in Merrick County for 15 years. Dorothy's Hobbies included playing cards, quilting and fancy work, and in her later years putting together puzzles.

She is survived by her sons, Arthur (Sherry) and Gerald (Shelly) Moeller both of Grand Island; daughter, Judy (Mark) Wilson of Clancy, Montana, and Gerri (Ken) Zrust of Grand Island; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry; brothers, Merle and Virgil; and sister, Rosella Marsh.
