God took home Dwayne D. Griess on Friday, April 5, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10 am Tuesday at Evangelical Free Church. Pastor Dan Brenton will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mr. Griess was born on March 14, 1966 in Henderson, Nebraska to Raymond and Betty (Maynard) Griess. He grew up in Henderson and graduated from Aurora High School.
Dwayne worked at Hy-Vee in Grand Island and loved being around his coworkers and customers. He was a people person who loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. He especially enjoyed traveling with his best friend, Tony Nuss. Dwayne and Tony recently traveled to Florida for the Husker bowl game.
He is survived by his father, Raymond Griess of Grand Island; a brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Julie Griess of Grand Island; and two nieces and two nephews; Emily (Drew) Buettner of Kearney, Jake Griess, Melanie Griess and Grady Griess, all of Grand Island.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his mother; his paternal grandparents, Milton and Emma Griess; and his maternal grandparents, Homer and Constance Maynard.
