Eldon Muhs, 88, of Grand Island, passed away, Sunday, September 25, at Sterling, NE with family by his side.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 am, Monday, October 3, 2016, at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jack Gillam officiating. Burial will follow at Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 - 8 PM at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Casual attire is appropriate, as Eldon would want everyone to be comfortable.

Eldon was born on March 6, 1928 at Alda, NE to William and Milda (Reher) Muhs. He grew up in rural Grand Island. He attended rural county school and graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1946.
He was united in marriage to Phyllis Wilkins on August 14, 1948. They made their home on a farm east of Grand Island where he resided all of his life until illness forced him to relocate to his daughter Colleen's home in Sterling, NE for the past couple of weeks.
Eldon was a member of Platt Duetsche all of his life where he regularly played cards and met many lifelong friends. In his later life he exercised, ate and socialized at the Grand Generation Center in Grand Island and held the people he met there dear to his heart. He thoroughly loved farming, his animals and the rural way of living.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Gary L. and Jeannette Muhs of North Platte and Ron and Sheri Muhs of Hoboken, NJ; daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Greg Arfmann of Crete, NE and Colleen and Ed Ehmen of Sterling, NE; brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Barb Muhs of Papillion, NE, Doyle and Carol Muhs of Grand Island, and Larry and Anne Muhs of Pierece, NE; and sister and brother-in-law, Vera and Kay Krueger of Grand Island.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brooke Glenn, Abbie Page, Sara Pohlmann, Caleb Muhs, Tyler Muhs, Evan Ehmen and Elizabeth Ehmen; and great-granchildren, Alexis, AJ, Ava and Aiden Page, Andrew and Caleb Muhs and Garrison and Julia Glenn.
Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis; partner, Linda Kaminski; sisters Ella Mae Rubesh and LoAnn Roach; granddaughter, Angela Muhs Cooper; infant children, Gerald Verne, Nancy Jo and Keith James.
