Enid Ruth Borgmann Cederlind, 65, of Phillips, passed away Friday, May 3. 2013, at the Henderson Care Center in Henderson, NE after a seven and a half year battle with cancer. According to her wishes, Enid was cremated. Burial will be at a later date at the Veteran's Cemetery near Omaha. A Musical Memorial Service will be 10:00 am, Friday, May 10, 2013 at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home Chapel. There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering from 5-8 pm, Thursday with family greeting friends at Livingston-Sondemann Funeral Home.
Enid was born on Valentine's Day in 1948 to John and Julia (Schilling) Borgmann, Sr. She was the middle child of eleven. She grew up on a dairy farm near Osmond, NE and attended St. Mary's elementary and graduated from Osmond High School in 1966.
She met her future husband, Leon Cederlind at the age of 15. They were married at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Osmond on May 6, 1967. They lived in Santa Ana, CA, where Leon was stationed with the Marine Corps. Six months later Leon was called to serve in Vietnam, and Enid moved back to Nebraska where she worked at Abler Transfer in Norfolk. After Leon's tour, they moved to Pensacola, FL where she worked at Wright Transfer. Adam was born in Pensacola in 1970. They moved back to Norfolk, NE shortly after, when Leon was discharged. Lisa was born in 1971. They moved to Lincoln in the fall of 1974 when Leon joined the Nebraska State Patrol. In 1977, the family moved to Geneva, where Erin was born in 1979. They moved to Grand Island in 1981. Enid joined Olsson Associates in 1987 and retired as a Team Coordinator after 25 years of service.
Enid was known for her beautiful soprano voice. She competed in vocal competitions when young and continued singing in church and secular choirs throughout her life. Most recently she sang at St. Mary's Cathedral and with the Grand Island City Singers. Her performance of "Ave Maria" graced many weddings.
Enid is survived by her husband, Leon of Phillips, NE; children, Adam and Amy Cederlind of Lincoln, NE, Lisa and Randy Teet of Lincoln, NE, and Erin Cederlind and her husband, Jonathan Poole of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren, Gavin, Addie, and August; nine brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Joe, and seven nieces and nephews.
