Ernestine Dahlke, 59, of Grand Island, died Sunday, November 15, 2015 at her home.

Ernestine was born March 9, 1956 at St. Francis hospital in Grand Island to Alegandro and Frances (Guerrero) Salinas. She grew up in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1974.

On November 30, 1974, she was united in marriage to David Dahlke at Resurrection Catholic Church in Grand Island. The couple lived in Grand Island. She worked at Pro Clean Solutions for 10 years.

Ernestine loved shopping for crafts and holiday decorations. She enjoyed spending time with her children, Chris and Heidi, husband, David, granddaughter, Alexis, and her four-legged "son" Paco. She was devoted to her family and appreciated every moment she had with them. Ernestine was loved in life and will be missed in death and cherished forever.

Ernestine is survived by husband: David Dahlke; son: Christopher (Deborah) Dahlke; daughter: Heidi Dahlke; granddaughter: Alexis; father: Alegandro Salinas; sisters: Frances (Rigo) Sandoval, Helen (Don) Batenhorst all of Grand Island.

She was preceded in death by mother: Frances; uncle: John Guerrero; and aunts: Flora Roman, Mary Mendez, and Alice Bellenger.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at St. Mary's Cathedral with Father Richard Piontkowski celebrating. Burial will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 4-8 PM Tuesday with Rosary service at 7 PM at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
