Evelyn O. Meinecke, 93, of St. Paul, formerly of Grand Island died Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Heritage Living Center in Grand Island.
Memorial services will be at 11 am Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home in Grand Island.  The Reverend Joseph Javorsky will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cremation services were provided by Westlawn Memorial Park Crematory. Burial of ashes will be in Westlawn Memorial Park.
Evelyn was born on October 8, 1917 in Sturges, Montana to Edward J. and Bertha L. (Lervold) Kleinkauf. She received her education in Grand Island and graduated in 1937 from Grand Island Senior High.
She was united in marriage to Walter A. Meinecke on November 2, 1941 in Grand Island. The couple made their home in Grand Island where she worked for Sears for 33 years.
Evelyn was a past member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island. She was also a member of the Platt Duetsche, the Disabled American Veteran Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Purple Heart Auxiliary.
Survivors of the immediate family include a son and daughter in law, Jack and Bev Meinecke of St. Paul, and a sister Edna G. Seier of California.
Additional survivors include four grandchildren, Jason (Sally) Meinecke, Jeffrey Meinecke, Kristina (Trevor) Hahn and Mike Meinecke, and two great grandchildren, Ashton and Alex.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Lorraine Christensen.
