Frances M. Heins, 87, of Grand Island died January 23, 2014 at Baywood Banner Heart Hospital in Mesa, Arizona.
Services will be February 5th at 10:30 a.m.at the Messiah Lutheran Church with burial at the Grand Island Cemetery following the service. The Rev Gary Harris will be officiating. Frances was cremated and there will be no visitation.
Frances Marie Stephens Heins was born January 3, 1927 in Eutaw, Alabama to Fredrick and Florence Roebuck Stephens. She graduated from Green County high school in Utah. Frances was married to William F. Heins on June 14, 1946 in Eutaw, Alabama.
She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church, the Saddle Club, the Telephone Pioneers, the Liederkranz, and the Platte Duetsche. She enjoyed golf, bridge, tennis, fishing, billiards and sewing.
She enjoyed her winters in Mesa, AZ and beautiful summers in Canada.
Survivors include two daughters, Donna Tyler ( Joe) of Lincoln, Juliana Freelend of Cleveland, Tennessee; one daughter-in-law, Marilyn Heins of Central City; and one son William of Littleton, Colorado; and good friend and companion Joe Berch of Canada. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Heins, on Sept 5, 1998 and one son James F. Heins on Sept 1, 2002. Also preceding her were her parents and two sisters and two brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Messiah Lutheran Church at Grand Island, Nebraska.
