Frances Mary Magdalen Brott, 95 of Grand Island, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Wedgewood Care Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, May 10 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with The Reverend Martin Egging officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 9, from 5-7 PM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with a Rosary beginning at 7 PM. Burial will be in Fort McPherson National Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Blessed Sacrament Food Pantry. Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be directed to www.livson.com.

Frances was born July 22, 1921 at St. Libory, NE to Frank E. and Rose E. (Gerdes) Shaffer. She married Orville R. Brott on August 20, 1940.
She was a devoted wife and mother and she loved cooking, gardening, and caring for her family.

Frances was a charter member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters. She was also very active in the Altar Society.

Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Nancy Brott and Michael and Judy Brott, both of Grand Island; 4 grandchildren; several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orville; and eldest son, Franklin.
