Geraldine Johnson (Huxtable), age 92, of Papillion, NE passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 28, at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Island. Reverend Ray Stone will be officiating. The service will be livestreamed via our youtube page at this link https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfhVBVRegU_3S7w9nUxfu6Q . A visitation will take place one hour prior to services. Interment will take place at Grand Island City Cemetery following funeral services.
Geraldine was born February 5, 1930 in Grand Island, NE to Elmer and Minnie (Sheaff) Huxtable. She was raised in Wood River, NE and graduated from Wood River High School in 1948.
She was married to Robert F. Johnson and later moved to Omaha to raise their very large family. Once her kids were older, she worked at Bishop Buffets at Westroads and Holiday Inn. She was previously a member of Sweet Adelines and was a member at Trinity United Methodist Church in Grand Island.
Geraldine is survived by her sons, Robert S. Johnson and Jeffery Johnson; daughters, Rhonda Lorenz, Deborah Johnson and Jane Johnson; grandchildren, Aaron, Angel, Christopher, Crystal, Josh, Kim, Kristin, Meghan and Shelby; many great grandchildren and other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her children, Gregory Johnson, Gerald Johnson and Lisa Olson; her parents, Elmer and Minnie; and her siblings, Everett Huxtable, Wendell Huxtable, George Huxtable, Charles Huxtable, Ada Smeaton and Josephine Landen.
Geraldine was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved spending time with family and friends and made sure we all knew how much we were loved. She was a very, very, very special person and we will always hold her memory in our hearts.
Memorials are suggested to Paralyzed Veterans of America and American Heart Association.
