Glen "Sonny" Virgil Lorance Jr., age 78, of Grand Island, passed away May 10, 2022 at CHI St. Francis Medical Center.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 10am at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home with Pastor Carl Eliason officiating.  Visitation will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022 from 5-7pm at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorials suggested to the family for later designation.  Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.

Glen was born on January 26, 1944 to Glen Virgil Sr. and Mary (Crane) Lorance in Grand Island.  He grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School in 1962.  On October 24, 1964 he was united in marriage to Marie Kraning and to this union one son, Brion was born.  He started his career at the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant then to Redman Industries building houses and in 1980, he started with Chicago Lumber Co. of Omaha until his retirement.  He loved staying busy and especially tinkering in his garage and woodworking.  He was a member of many car clubs and enjoyed getting to know all the "hot rod people" around the area.  His greatest pride and joy above everything else was his family but his grandsons always held a very special place in his heart.

He is survived by son, Brion (Sara) Lorance of Grand Island; grandsons, Jacob and Justin Lorance of Grand Island; sister, Karen (Larry) Henderson of South Carolina; brother, Michael (Jackie) Lorance of South Carolina and brother in-law, Samuel Kraning Jr. of Arkansas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Glen Sr. and Mary Lorance; wife, Marie Lorance; father and mother in-law, Samuel Sr. and Annette Kraning and brother in-law, Ralph Kraning.  Condolences can be left at www.livson.com
