Hattie L. (Forster) Wright, 98, of Sutton died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the Sutton Community Home.
Graveside services will be at 1 pm Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the Grand Island City Cemetery. There will be no visitation; Hattie was cremated according to her wishes.
Mrs. Wright was born on November 3, 1912 in Cawker City, KS to Clare and Cynthia (Kyle) Forster. Her family moved to Hastings, NE in 1925 where she attended school. In 1928 they moved to Grand Island where she graduated from Grand Island High School in 1931.
She was united in marriage to Albert W. Wright on October 20, 1933. The couple moved to Hastings, Nebraska where Mr. Wright worked on the Union Pacific Railroad. In 1963 they moved to Kansas City, KS until 1965 when they were transferred to North Platte with the UPRR. Mr. Wright preceded her in death in January of 1986. Hattie then moved to Grafton, NE in 1993 and then to Sutton in 1998.
Hattie was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, two sisters and one grandson.
She is survived by a daughter, Betty Keenan of Sutton, NE, a son Donald and his wife Shirley Wright of Bloomington, NE, 10 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 13 great great grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hastings and the Union Pacific Old Timers Lodge #8 in North Platte. Hattie enjoyed gardening, traveling, crossword puzzles, playing Pinochle, and listening and dancing to music. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
