Ilene Kay Bacon, 70, passed away, Friday, November 4, 2016, at Wedgewood Care Center in Grand Island after a brief battle with lung cancer. A memorial service with Military honors for Ilene and husband, Ken, who passed away in February of 2016, will be held Saturday, November 19th at 2 PM in Scottsbluff, NE at the Western Nebraska Veteran's Home. The family respectfully requests memorials to the Valentine Fire Department in Valentine, NE where Ken was a lifelong volunteer.

Ilene was born in Sibley, Iowa to Theresa and Clarence Wobig.  She grew up in and around Cody, NE. She lived most of her adult life in Valentine, NE and moved to Gering, NE in 2005.  She loved to cook, visit with friends, and work in her yard.

She is survived by her daughter: Brenda (Keith) Meyer; stepson: Joe (April) Bacon; stepdaughter: Lori (Mark) Willson; sisters- in-law: Crissie Wobig, Kathy (Rod) Matilainen; brother-in-law: Larry Bacon; grandchildren: Emmaline, Ethan, Ashlee, Jayden, Preston, Amanda, Angela, Anthony, Nathan, Alex; and many beloved nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Larry and husband, Ken.
