James 'Jim' R. Caldwell, 83, of Grand Island, passed away Wednesday, November 8 at the Grand Island VA Medical Center.
Memorial Services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church-Gollaher Chapel with The Reverend Kelly Karges officiating. Jim donated his body to science and the burial will be at a later date at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery.

Mr. Caldwell was born on October 27, 1934 in Blair, NE to George and Thelma (Crosby) Caldwell.
He attended school in Blair and graduated in 1952. In February 16, 1956 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was Honorably Discharged in February 15, 1960 as an Airman 2nd Class.
Jim married Barbara Wollen on April 14, 1960 at Albion, NE. The couple made their home in Grand Island and were married for 49 years before her death in 2009. He worked as a service representative for Pitney-Bowes for over 30 years.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood-working, traveling, having coffee with his buddies and especially spending time with his family.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Christine Caldwell and her boyfriend, Roy of Grand Island; and his son Marty Caldwell and his girlfriend, Beth of Cedar Rapids, NE; five grandchildren, Randy (Robyn) Bailey of Cedar Rapids, NE, Jeff (Lisa) Caldwell of Denton, TX, Kelli (Daniel) King of Yukon, OK, Jackie Puente of Grand Island and Sarah (Chad) Beddard of Bellevue, NE; 13 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Bonnie Caldwell of California; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara; and his brother, Eldon.
