Obituary

James G. Clark, 78, of Doniphan, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at home.
Memorial services will be at 10 am Saturday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Reverend Jack Sample will officiate. Burial of ashes will be in the Cedarview Cemetery in Doniphan. Cremation services were provided by Westlawn Memorial Park.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
James Gerald Clark was born on July 20, 1932 in Garfield, Arkansas to Everett and Valley (Tooley) Clark. He grew up in Arkansas and received his education at Rogers High School in Rogers, Arkansas.
He enlisted in the United States Army on August 10, 1950 and served in combat during the Korean War. He received the Korea Service Medal and two Bronze Stars. He was honorably discharged on June 15, 1958.
James was united in marriage to Dianne R. Maul on January 20, 1955 in Smith Center, Kansas. Following his discharge from the Army the couple made their home in Milford while he attended trade school. After graduation they moved to Doniphan where they raised their family. He was employed by Diers Motor Company and the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant. He owned and operated Doniphan Battery and Electric from 1974 until his retirement in 1982. Following retirement he worked part time as a mechanic for Bosselman Inc.
He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and spending time with friends and family on camping and fishing trips.
He is survived by two daughters; Debra (Jerry) Reinhardt of Greeley, CO and Cheryl (Jim) Taylor of Doniphan, a son Albert (Rebecca) Clark of Dannebrog, 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, James Clark, a grandson, Micah Clark, a sister, Betty Nystrom, and a brother Roy Lane.
