James R. "Jimmy" O'Brien, 46, of Loup City, passed away Thursday, August 10 at CHI Health Saint Francis Medical Center as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday at St. Josophat Catholic Church in Loup City with The Reverend Richard Piontkowski officiating. A visitation will be Monday from 4-8 PM at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery near Wood River.

Jimmy was born July 15, 1971 in Grand Island to James and Carole (Graff) O'Brien. He graduated from Shelton High School. He was excellent baseball player while growing up. He married Shannon Schleicher on May 5, 1993 at Grand Island. To this union 3 children were born: Ashley, Drew and Grace.
Jimmy loved to drive semi's for a living and he drove them most of his life. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, ATV's. He recently said, "Nothing else matters more to me than my family". He loved his family and friends deeply.He was an avid Husker Football fan, enjoyed playing poker with friends, tubing down the Cedar River, going on poker runs, and loved to sing and dance and just being the life of the party.
Survivors include his wife, Shannon; his parents; his children and their spouses, Ashley and Sung Walker, and Drew and Grace O'Brien, and Alexis Brunotte; sister and brother-in-law, Leisa and Brian Sonney; grandchildren, Aria and Merrick Walker and Brayden and Landon; nieces, Brandy, Adrienne; nephews, Andrew, Gary and Conner; and grandfather, Donald Graff; brother and sister-in-laws, Cheryl and David Callahan and Shane and Aimee Schleicher and father-in-law, David Schleicher.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
