Jesus L. Ortiz, 47, of Grand Island, passed away Monday, July 7, 2025.

Jesus was born on March 24, 1978, to Miguel and Francisca (Luna) Ortiz in Brownsville, TX where he was raised and recieved his education. Following high school, he enlisted into the United States Navy.

Jesus lived in many places across the United States, including, California, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Texas and Nebraska. He worked for various employers throughout his life, including JBS, Heritage Retirement and Popeyes. He was an exceptionally skilled mechanic. He loved animals, racing cars, going to the shooting range and playing video games.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Issac Ortiz, Enki Ortiz, Izabella Ortiz; father, Miguel Ortiz Sr.; siblings, Miguel Jr. (Noemie) Ortiz, Eric Ortiz, Antonia Ortiz, Erica Ortiz. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Erika Mena, as well as two nephews and five nieces.

Jesus was preceded in death by his mother, Francisca Ortiz; Tio, Juan Ortiz; Tia, Tina Contreras.
