JoAnn F. Ruzicka, 85, of Grand Island, passed away Sept. 5, 2026 at Riverside Lodge with her family by her side.

Per JoAnn’s wishes cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date. JoAnn F. Ruzicka was born in Grand Island at home on January 1, 1941, to Herman and Pearl (Meahan) Ogden. She graduated at Grand Island Senior High School in 1959. She later went to community college for two years. She married Richard Ruzicka on May 29, 1965 in Grand Island, NE. She worked several jobs; Model Laundry, office clerk for five years, Liberty Cleaners for ten years and Grand Island Senior High as a Media Secretary for 32 years.

She was a member of the TOPS Clubs for 31 years and held several offices during that time.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons and daughter-in-laws, Brian and Teresa Ruzicka and Mark and Denise Ruzicka; one sister, Marilyn Gilroy; niece, Rhonda Langer of Norfolk; two brothers, Larry and Jim Ogden of Grand Island; grandchildren, Hope Ruzicka, Justin Miereau, April Wadleigh, Amber Wadleigh-Rosete; 9 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Ruzicka; son, Scott Ruzicka; daughter, Brenda Ruzicka.
