John Laws, age 82, of Grand Island, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022 in Grand Island.

On Monday, February 14, 2022, family and friends will meet at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home at 9:45am for procession to Grand Island City Cemetery for a graveside service.  A celebration of life will be held at Third City Christian Church at 11:30am with Pastor Scott Jones officiating.

John was born January 7, 1940 in Aurora to Glen and Zelda Mae (Brown) Laws.  He grew up in Cushing.  He graduated from Palmer High School where he met Kay Davis.  They were married on November 16, 1958 in Palmer.  They made their home in Grand Island.  Three Children were blessed to this union.  John was an engineer for the Nebraska Department of Roads for 40 years retiring in 2001.  He enjoyed spending his free time wood working and working in his yard.

Those left to cherish his memory are daughter, Robyn Wattier; son, Scott Laws; sister, Jeanie Glines; grandchildren, Tim Laws, Justin Koelzer, Courtney Koelzer, Lisa Robertson, Ashely Schneider, Jennifer Laws, Whitney Schneider and Jon Pearson; along with 19 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay; daughter, Kimberly Koelzer; parents and brother, Herb Spears.
