Obituary

Joy Elaine Danner (Markworth), 77, of Grand Island, died Friday, March 22, 2013 at Golden Living Center Lakeview.
Graveside services will be at Westlawn Memorial Park at a later date. According to Joy's wishes she was cremated. Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is serving the family.
Memorials are suggested to AseraCare Hospice.
Joy was born on October 28, 1935 in Grand Island to Lawrence and Elsie V. (Albers) Danner. She grew up in Chapman and graduated from Chapman High School.
Following high school she moved to Lincoln and worked as a telephone operator. Later she moved to Tennessee where she worked at a pecan pie factory. She then returned to Lincoln where she worked for Bryan LGH for 35 years. Following retirement from Bryan LGH she worked as a housekeeper for a retirement community in Lincoln. In 1995 she moved to Grand Island.
Joy enjoyed shopping and eating out with friends and family. All those that knew Joy will remember her as a loving and caring perfectionist.
Survivors of the immediate family include a brother, Robert (Charlotte) Markworth of Ft. Collins, CO; two sisters, Joanne (Dennis) Lynch of Chapman and Carol Hatcher of Grand Island; several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Kenneth and Melvin Markworth; sisters, Jeanette Herald and Betty Marquis, and an infant brother and infant sister.

Graveside services will be at Westlawn Memorial Park at a later date. According to Joy's wishes she was cremated. Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is serving the family.
