Obituary

Joyce A. Fotinos, 87 of Grand Island passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 at CHI Health St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, NE.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM, Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with The Reverend Martin Egging officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Wednesday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home Chapel. There will be a Vigil Prayer Service beginning at 7. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

She was born May 8, 1932 at St. Paul, NE to Edward and Bregida (Sack) Becker. She attended Grand Island Public Schools and worked at Twin Rivers.She married Pete Fotinos on December 9, 1952 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was a housewife on the farm all her life.

In November 2017 Joyce moved into Heritage of Sagewood Assisted Living in Grand Island after her husband Pete died in July 2017. She made many new friends with the residents and staff there.

She loved the music activities and the last few months was playing Bingo.Joyce was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

She really loved the Mollie B Polka Show and was so proud of her grandkids and great grandkids. She enjoyed their visits very much.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Janice Budd of Grand Island; two sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Beth Fotinos of Kenesaw and Troy Fotinos of Wood River; grandchildren and their spouses, J.R. and Amy Shurigar of Severance, CO, Shannon and Rob Latimer of Rapid City, SD, Mandy Shurigar and Bryce Jones of Holstein, NE, Heather and Ted Triggs of Lincoln, NE, Justin and Niki Budd of Columbus, OH and Mike and Emily Molnar of Omaha; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Jared, Kylee, Zachary, Brooklyn, Dylan, Rylie, Braylin, Calvin, Rowan, Jaiden, Ella and Tyler; sister-in-laws, Rosie Carruth of Grand Island, Beverly Becker of Grand Island; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; her parents; brothers, Richard and Lyle becker; infant, Kenneth Becker; sister, Dorothy Caudill ; brother-in-laws, Don Caudill, Elmer Carruth, Andy Fotinos; sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Julia and Wayne Thomas, Liz and George Sullivan; great grandson, Jackson Latimer; nieces, Katherine Thomas, Cami Sullivan, and Sandra Van Osdol; and nephew, Gary Caudill.
