One of the most momentous moments was the family vacation in Alaska, where he was the only one to catch a Salmon. He enjoyed long bike rides with his older brother Jared. He also loved camping and fishing with his friends.

When Justin was younger he spent many summers on his grandparent's farm. He had a very close relationship with his Grandpa Eickhorst.
