Grand Island, NE — With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Khampheo Sundara, 59, on October 30, 2024 at CHI Health St. Francis. A devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, she touched the lives of many with her generous spirit and unwavering love.
Born in Laos, Khampheo Sundara developed a passion for sewing at a young age, a talent she carried with her when she migrated to the United States in the early 1980s. Her seamstress skills not only showcased her creativity but also served as a means of connecting with her family and friends, sharing warmth through her handmade creations.
Khampheo Sundara found immense joy in watching her grandchildren grow, and her love for her children was deep and unwavering. Family was everything to her, and she cherished every moment spent together, filled with laughter and love.
Throughout her adult life, Khampheo Sundara turned to her faith for strength and guidance. She recently attended New Life Church, where she found community and solace.
For the past two years, she bravely fought against lung cancer, demonstrating incredible strength and resilience. Her spirit remained unbroken, and her love for those around her shone brightly until the very end.
She is survived by her loving children, daughter, Lola Bouatic; Son, Tommy Bouatic, Son, Peter Bouatic, and her cherished grandchildren, Ayden Ivey, Ava Garcia. Khampheo Sundara will be remembered for her selflessness, creativity, and the profound impact she had on the lives of those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Seuk Bouatic, parents, Juer Sylathong and Thone Sundara, as well as her siblings.
There will be no funeral services. A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 2 PM for immediate family members, with cremation to follow.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at her home with family and close friends.
