LaDonna Louise Wells, age 62, of Storm Lake, Iowa passed on at her home in Grand Island, Nebraska on March 23, 2018 from natural causes after a brief illness.

She was born to Lorene Marie (Coon) Wells and Willis William Wells on May 25, 1955. She grew up with her younger brother Craig on a farm outside Storm Lake, Iowa. She graduated from Storm Lake Public High School in 1973 where she was active in cheerleading, Girl Scouts, and 4H.

Ladonna studied court reporting at AIB College of Business in Des Moines, Iowa. She served as a career-long district court reporter in Grand Island, Nebraska. She also served as President of the Nebraska Court Reporters Association.

The beloved aunt of four, she emanated joy and pride into the lives of Angela, Lincoln, Winston, and Nolan. She treasured the time spent cheering them on at dance recitals or baseball games, riding the tractor, cooking for and celebrating holidays, and accompanying her family on trips around the United States.

Outside of her professional life, she was a dedicated member of her church and community. She volunteered at the local food bank and supported US Veterans and active military service members in many ways. She was a faithful member of Resurrection Church and loving godmother of Angela Wells, Winston Wells, and Madeline Thelen.

She was also loved by her friends in Grand Island who welcomed her like a family member. She adapted to Nebraska and made it her home.

An outstanding Scrabble player and dedicated Huskers fan, she will be deeply missed by all those she touched with her tender smile and compassionate heart.

Left to cherish her memory, are her brother Craig Wells, sister in-law Cindy, niece Angela, and nephews Lincoln, Winston, and Nolan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Lorene.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home Chapel with The Reverend Scott Harter officiating in Grand Island, Nebraska at 10:30 AM followed by a lunch.

The funeral service will be Monday, April 9, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Storm Lake. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation and the vigil service will be at St. Mary's Church in Storm Lake on Sunday evening, April 8, 2018 (time pending). There will be a rosary beforehand. May God bless the memory of Ladonna Wells and welcome her into His Kingdom.
