Lindy Murphy, 96, of Grand Island, NE died December 15, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island.
Lindy was born on February 19, 1916 in Palmer, NE to Charles (Rite) Rita and Elsie (Davis) Linderman.  She moved to Grand Island in 1922, attended Grand Island schools and graduated from high school.
She was united in marriage to Jerry Murphy on July 9, 1937 at First Presbyterian Church in Grand Island.  She was very active in the church and Riverside golf club.  She loved knitting, quilting, craft work, restoring furniture, gardening at their lake home, and cooking famous family recipes that have been passed down through the years.   She shared her grace, sweetness and wonderful sense of humor with all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Jim Murphy (Sandee Smith) of Orono, MN; granddaughter, Anne Murphy Kuyper (Scott Kuyper) of Prior Lake, MN; grandson Jim Murphy (Amy);  two great grandsons, Logan and Cade Murphy of Lakeville, MN; sisters, Nelle Winters of Idaho and Bette Boehm of Grand Island.
She was preceded in death by husband, Jerry in 2007, parents, and siblings, Bernice, Margaret, and Lowell.

Memorial service will be at Riverside Retirement Lodge at 9:30 AM on
Tuesday, December 18, 2012, with Pastor Bremer officiating. Private family inurnment will take place at First Presbyterian Church in Grand Island.
