Obituary

Lorraine S. Tagge, 89, of Grand Island, Nebraska passed away December 5, 2023 at Tiffany Square Care Center in Grand Island.

Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until service time, Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grand Island.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grand Island. The Reverend Steven Peeler will officiate.

Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.

Interment will be held in Grand Island City Cemetery.

Lorraine was born June 21, 1934 in Grand Island, Nebraska to John & Hermine (Untiedt) Lorenzen. She grew up in Grand Island and attended school at Grand Island Senior High.

She worked as a dental assistant most all of her life, working in dental offices in Grand Island.

Lorraine was united in marriage to Donald Tagge on May 15, 1955 in Grand Island. To this union three daughters were born, Sheryl, Cindy and Christy.

When their children were young, she worked as a homemaker raising the children. As the children grew up, she was employed as a dental assistant at Dr. Wade Zersen's dental office.

Her husband passed away February 7, 2003. Lorraine continued to work as a dental assistant and eventually retired from there.

Lorraine was a member of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church and was active in parent organizations and activities with the school including PTA and Girl Scouts. She loved the outdoors and flowers. She enjoyed watching football, especially the Huskers.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sheryl & John Kosch, Cindy & Paul Walkowiak and Christy & Ken Scholl all of Grand Island; eight grandchildren, Matthew & Marisela Kosch, Sarah & Derrick Hopkins, Kim Kosch, Amanda & Spencer Patsios, Justin Walkowiak, Ryan Walkowiak, Emily & Jake Johnson and Aaron & Morgan Scholl; 6 great grandchildren, Alexiah Kano, Ava Kosch, Kaleb Hopkins, Quinn Patsios, Connor Patsios and Ty Johnson.

Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald Tagge, a grandson Spencer Scholl, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Max & Olga Tagge, a brother and sister-in-law, Roy & Enid Lorenzen; a sister & brother-in-law, Irma & Robert Coker and an infant sister, Caroline Lorenzen.
