Lucile Kensinger, 99, of Grand Island died Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Tiffany Square Care Center in Grand Island.
Private graveside services will be Friday, September 28th at the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Mrs. Kensinger was born May 30, 1913 in Grand Island to Fred and Kathrine (Stobbe) Truxes.
Survivors of the immediate family include two daughters and sons-in-laws, Sharon and Bill Haldeman and Shirley and Richard Grudzinski, all of Grand Island.
Other survivors include her granddaughter, Lynnette and her husband Larry Chitty; two grandsons, Scott and his wife Cheryl Grudzinski of Grand Island and Dwight Haldeman and friend Sue Lukasiewicz of Hastings; three great- grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and three step great great grandchildren.
Lucile received her education in Grand Island.
She married Richard Douglas Kensinger on July 3, 1936 In Grand Island. They lived in Grand Island where they were owners of Kensinger Service and Supply.
Lucile was active in the First Christian church, Church Circle, Grand Island Woman's Club, Girl Scout leader for several years, a Lifetime member of Jefferson School PTA, Shrine Auxiliary to the crippled, Children's Hospital, and The Lutheran Hospital Service league.
Lucile was an avid reader and card player. She enjoyed get togethers with friends and family.
Along with her husband, she is preceded in death by her sisters; Susie Hehner, Estella Colman, and step sister Carolyn Taibi.
Memorials may be given to The Shriners Crippled Hospital.
