Lucille R. Honz, 89, of Grand Island, died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Grand Island Veterans Home.
Memorial Mass will be at 2 pm Tuesday, June 24th at St. Mary's Cathedral. Father Richard Piontkowski will officiate.  There will be no visitation, Mrs. Honz was cremated. Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home is serving the family.
Memorials are suggested to the family.
Mrs. Honz was born on December 7, 1924, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Jack and Josephine (Enzolera) Ferrara.
She was united in marriage to Andrew Honz on August 21, 1948, at Omaha. The couple made their home in Grand Island where she worked as in interior decorator for Grand Island Carpet and Drapery. Mr. Honz preceded her in death on April 7, 2013.
Survivors of the immediate family include a son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Steph Honz of Loup City; a sister, Mary Rudol of Omaha; and two sisters-in-law, Margaret Feldman of Harlan, IA and Sr. Norma Honz, OSB of Atchison, KS.
Also surviving are two granddaughters, Marcy Bruggeman of Omaha and Dawn (Bruce) Rieker of Lincoln; three great grandchildren, Haley, Kaitlyn and Jacob Rieker; and many nieces and nephews.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Andrew, three brothers and two sisters.
