Marilyn Marie (Hansen) Patchen was born to Martin J. & Margaret (Youngson) Hansen on April 1, 1940, in Minden, Nebraska. She grew up to enjoy music and dance. She later attended business college and used that to find employment with the Overhead Door Company in Grand Island, Nebraska. Learning that a co-worker was about to be let go due to cutbacks, Marilyn retired, which allowed her co-worker to keep her job. That was the kind of person Marilyn was. A short time after retirement, Marilyn went to work at Sam's Club where she would greet people coming in or when they were leaving. Marilyn touched thousands of lives in her lifetime each time with a smile!

When not at work, Marilyn loved to work in her flowers and yard making them one of the most beautiful in the neighborhood. Marilyn was also an avid fisherman and would bait her own hook! She enjoyed going out on the boat with her husband, Dale, whom she was married to for 45 years.

Marilyn is survived by her three children, Dan Kuhlman, Dave & Marsha Kuhlman, Connie & Craig; two stepchildren, Deb Colburn and Darren Patchen; nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Jacobitz; one brother & sister-in-law, Roger & Marilyn Hansen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Harold, and daughter, Nancy.
