Michael Willmert, 60, of Grand Island, formerly from upstate New York died July 18, 2022, peacefully at home surrounded by family. Condolences can be shared at www.livson.com.

He was born on March 3, 1962, in Brockport, New York to William and Anne (Burns) Willmert. He grew up in New York then made his way to Grand Island in 1983.

He met Dahila Roode in 1980, they had one daughter. He was united in marriage to Michelle Barnes in 1984. To this union they had two sons. Later in life he met his special friend Brittannie and her son Rylee.

He is survived by his father, Bill (Mary) Willmert; siblings, Randy Willmert and Tina Klock both of New York; children, Miranda (Jared) Harwick of Aurora and Shane (Beckie) Willmert of Grand Island; and five grandchildren, Rowan, Jasper, Willow, Sofia, and Chase.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anne Willmert; son, Joshua Willmert; and granddaughters, Zoe, Audrey and Nevaeh Willmert.

A Celebration of Life will be held at United Vets Club (The United Room) on July 24, 2022, from 2-4 pm. Memorials are to be directed to the family.
