Monte V. Ronzzo, 78, of Grand Island passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017, at CHI St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Memorial service will be 10:30 AM Friday, February 17, 2017 at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Chapel. Pastor Mark Oberbeck will be officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.

Monte was born in Burwell, NE to Virgil M. and Merry (Mickie) Shirley Ronzzo on December 15, 1938. He entered the United States Air Force in 1956 and was honorably discharged in 1960. He was married to Peg Allision, and to this union three children were born: Elizabeth, Vicki, and Monte G. Monte worked many years at Diamond Construction until he had to retire due to his health.

Monte loved to study the Bible, work in his shop, and play with his four-legged friend Ashia. He was able to teach her many tricks. He also enjoyed his time with his best friend of 30 years, Marianne.

Survivors include daughter: Vickie Wood of Nashville, TN; best friend: Marianne Straka; half-sister: Sheree Brown of Ord; four half-brothers: Larry Ronzzo of ID, Ken Ronzzo of CA, Jerry Ronzzo of Omaha, NE, Bill Ronzzo of Ord; and many loving cousins.

Monte was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Elizabeth, and son: Monte G.
